Senior Backend Engineer TypeScript / AI Agents

pyrock.ai builds workflow automation for construction sites. Site engineers, contractors and owners run their projects on WhatsApp, so that's where we live. Our assistant sits inside existing site groups, ingests bills, voice notes and photos in Hindi, Marathi, Gujarati and English, and turns them into structured inventory, compliance and daily reporting.

What you'll work on

• A WhatsApp messaging bridge that stays up and stays ordered under bursty load - hundreds of messages, images and PDFs per client per day, across multiple site groups at once
• LLM agent pipelines that extract structured data from messy, multilingual input
• Per-client isolated deployments - every customer runs on their own infrastructure, so provisioning, monitoring and upgrades have to be repeatable
• Making all of it boring. What matters most to us is that the workflow does not break when volume grows

What we're looking for

• 5+ years of production TypeScript / Node.js services other people depended on
• Practical LLM agent and tool-use experience, built around model failure rather than assuming it away
• Core stack: TypeScript, Node.js, PostgreSQL, Redis, BullMQ or similar queues, Linux, Docker, LLM tool calling
• Idempotency, retries, message ordering, monitoring
• Fluent English or Hindi - you'll talk directly to the founders and sometimes to clients on site
• You've debugged something at 11pm because it mattered, not because someone told you to

Nice to have

WhatsApp Business API or Baileys, media and OCR pipelines, computer vision, multi-tenant deployments, or exposure to construction, logistics or manufacturing.

Details

Equity and a written raise ladder alongside the salary. Fixed working window you choose. You would report directly to the founders and be the senior backend person, not one of ten.

Process

A 20-minute intro call, a 45-minute technical conversation, then a small paid trial - we don't ask anyone to work for free. Usually under two weeks start to finish.

AI Agent Developer (Intern / Analyst)

We're a B2B AI SaaS building WhatsApp-based automation for construction management and operations. We're looking for someone who wants to build autonomous AI agents - not just use them.

What you'll do

• Build and maintain AI agent workflows (tool loops, context handling, orchestration)
• Develop and integrate agents in TypeScript
• Work with the Meta Business Suite / WhatsApp Business API to automate real client workflows
• Test, debug, and ship agents that run in production

What we're looking for

• Hands-on experience with AI agents / LLM tool-calling (any framework or from scratch)
• TypeScript / JavaScript - comfortable writing and debugging
• Familiarity with APIs, webhooks, and backend basics
• Bonus: experience with WhatsApp Business API, RAG, or messaging automation
